As the bowling season draws nearer I thought I would update you on a few things.
TREASURERS ROLE
We still need someone to take on the Treasurers role. Gaynor has said that she will be giving up at the end of March. Obviously, the club cannot operate without a Treasurer, so this is now a matter of urgency. If anyone is interested could they please let me know as soon as possible. Gaynor will go through everything with the person. Spreadsheets etc are already set up.
WORKS PARTY
We will be holding a works party on the next 2 Saturdays (14th March & 21st March starting at 9.30am). All help would be appreciated in getting everything ready for the start of the bowling season. There has already been a lot of work done by Malcolm Mitchell and his band of merry men. Tracey and her painting team.
DEFIB TRAINING
John Gant will be giving Defib training on the 21st of March at 1.30pm. If you are interested just turn up.
BUILDING WORK
As some of you might have noticed the new roof on the balcony is nearly completed. There is also new guttering around the building. Hopefully we should have no more leaks.
SHORT MAT BOWLING
This has been a major success this year and thanks go to Richard Armitage for organizing. The last session will be Thursday 26th March. Hope everyone who has been has enjoyed it.
SATURDAY TEATIME OPENING
We continue to open the club on a Saturday teatime 5pm while 7.30pm. Please pop in for a drink.
GREEN OPENING COMPETITION AND BBQ
We are having a mixed bowling competition to officially open the green on Saturday March 28th starting at 12pm. This will be limited to 32 bowlers (16 women and 16 men). Cost will be £5 per bowler which will include the BBQ. Non-bowlers £3 for BBQ. There will also be an Easter Bonnet competition, Egg Hunt and as always, there will be a Raffle. If you would like to bowl, let me know as soon as possible so as not to be disappointed. We will be running further competitions during the season.
Finally I hope you all have a successful season.
Adrian Fish
Club Secretary.
